We’re looking for a Director of Product and Technology (DoPT) to help us in defining and driving our product vision as part of our Management Team!

Job description

Greener is transforming the way temporary energy is delivered. As Europe’s largest mobile battery rental company, we power construction sites, infrastructure projects, and commercial and industrial premises without relying on polluting diesel generators. What sets us apart is not just our fleet of batteries, but the software we’ve built around it. Our Energy Management System (EMS) enables real-time monitoring, remote control, predictive planning, and smarter use of assets- making temporary energy cleaner, more reliable, and more efficient.

Working at Greener means being part of a team that combines hardware and software innovation to solve real-world challenges. We’re constantly pushing the boundaries of what’s possible; from integrating new energy sources like solar and hydrogen, to exploring future business models where our software becomes a product in its own right.

As Director of Product & Technology (DoPT), you’ll play a central role in this journey, as you’ll be responsible for defining and driving our product vision and ensuring technology enables that vision. You will balance innovation with reliability, ensuring our EMS and tools evolve with customer and market needs, and lead our Product and Development teams. You’ll guide how our software supports and scales Greener’s solutions, while making sure we continue to surprise our customers with the best and most relevant options. A central part of this role is answering: What is the product that Greener delivers? How do hardware and software reinforce each other? And do we remain focused on rental only, or can other models be added? Alongside this, you’ll be responsible for preventing - and if necessary, responding to - information security incidents. It’s a role that combines leadership, strategy, and execution, with a direct impact on both our mission and the way temporary energy is delivered across Europe.

In this role, you are part of the leadership team and work closely with peers across sales, service, finance, and in-country teams, ensuring product direction and technology choices are fully aligned with our mission and business direction.

Concretely, you:

  • Define and execute the long-term product vision, with technology strategy built to support it, ensuring both are connected to our mission and business goals

  • Lead and grow our development teams (currently 1 product owner, 2 team leads, 6 developers, 1 UX/UI designer, 1 Data engineer)

  • Own and prioritize the roadmap for our EMS and other internal tools, ensuring product choices reflect customer needs and market trends

  • Manage projects and processes across teams, including subsidy projects (e.g. WBSO) and compliance (e.g. NIS2)

  • Act as the driving force and coordinator for AI implementation across Greener, identifying opportunities, setting priorities, and ensuring initiatives deliver measurable value

  • Ensure product and technology teams are aligned with Greener’s company KPIs,  translating strategic objectives into concrete goals that maximize both business outcomes and impact value

  • Work closely with Operations, Sales, Customer Support, and Service to identify opportunities and turn them into projects (e.g. adding mobile wind turbines, integrating sales tools, or automating fleet management)

  • Balance innovation and reliability when making key product and technology decisions

  • Represent the product and technology vision in the leadership team and contribute to company-wide growth and planning

  • Gather external insights from customers and the wider market, and translate these into a relevant product roadmap

What we offer

You’ll join a purpose-driven company in a fast-moving space, where you can directly shape the future of our technology and product offering - together with colleagues who care about each other and about the planet. At Greener, we value curiosity, open communication, and goal-oriented teamwork. We’re all about learning, reflecting, and making a real impact. Besides contributing to a greener world, you'll enjoy exciting and impactful work in a rapidly growing scale-up. You'll be part of an inspiring work environment with a committed, friendly team and an open and honest culture. We offer 30 vacation days per year based on full-time employment, a pension plan with an 8% contribution and no personal cost, and a company bonus plan based on our shared targets of CO2 reduction and commercial growth. Next to your salary, we also offer the opportunity to participate in our share scheme (STAK), so you can directly share in Greener’s growth and impact. Enjoy free vegetarian lunches at the office, the option between travel allowance or lease car, a laptop and operating system of your choice (Apple or Microsoft - MacOS/Windows/Linux), and a budget for setting up your home workspace. Plus, you can work up to two weeks remote per year!

Job requirements

Who are you?

You are a good fit if you:

  • Have 10+ years of experience in product/technology roles, at least 5 of which leading cross-functional product and/or technology teams

  • Bring strong product management expertise, ideally in IoT, energy, or scale-up environments

  • Can translate complex needs into clear product and technology choices

  • Understand modern software development and system design (e.g. agile, APIs, integrations), even if you’re not coding yourself

  • Enjoy leading people, developing teams, and helping others grow

  • Are comfortable working with both engineers and non-technical colleagues

  • See product leadership as your primary focus, using technology as a key enabler in serving the business and the customer, and know how to gather and validate input from both.
